Why Your Face Needs A Massage

Facial Massage is the most relaxing, calming way to end your day. Every time I use my jade roller, I feel at ease and a sense of peace comes over me.

I LOVE my nighttime routine. That said, facial massage is MUCH more beneficial to you than you think. It completely transforms your skins (and even facial structure) over time, and it does it naturally.

Benefits of Daily Facial Massage

#1 Depuff Your Face…especially in the morning

A facial massage promotes oxygen and blood flow to your face. This happens as a result of the gently pressure being applied to the skin. If you have sensitive or light skin, you can see this immediately when your face turns slightly pink from the sudden rush of blood.

And remember: blood carries oxygen with it, and oxygen will clean out your pores and depuff your face!

If you’re doing your facial massage with a cold instrument, like an ice cube or frozen spoon, this will also depuff your face in the cheek and under eye area.

#2 Minimize wrinkles and nasolabial folds

Nasolabial folds are the first indication of aging. These are the lines that are found around the corners of the mouth. They stretch from the tops of our cheek to the bottom of our chins.

They are sometimes called “laugh lines”.

A good facial massage, done with the correct techniques, will eliminate or minimize these laugh lines.

Make sure your massage is pushing the cheek UP and OUT to work against gravity and prevent the nasolabial fold lines.

When you massage with a proper skin oil, you are also moisturizing your skin. Proper moisture will fade away lines and wrinkles on your forehead or between your eyebrows.

Add face massage to your routine and you will notice a difference!

#3 Increase Collagen Production & Skin Elasticity

When you stimulate your skin with a massage, and bring blood and oxygen to your face, you ALSO increase collagen production naturally.

Collagen strengthens your skin and prevents it from sagging.

Also, collagen is responsible for keeping our skin hydrated and moisturized. As we age, our skin looses this ability.

However, there are natural techniques to boost our skin’s collagen and keep it young and beautiful. Daily facial massage is a fantastic technique for boosting collagen.

The Gua Sha tool is ALSO a fantastic tool for facial massage. It simulated blood flow to your face, increases collagen production, and brings oxygen to your pores from the inside.

Because the tool is larger than a Jade Roller, it can cover more surface area on your skin and lifts any sagging.

#3 Massage With Your Hands

If you don’t have a Jade Roller or a Gua Sha tool, a great alternative is doing a massage with your own hands and fingers. Although this method may not be as effective as the jade product, it will certainly be beneficial for your skin, nevertheless.
